Formerly known as Empok Nor, Starfleet felt they needed additional early warning / listening posts to serve the A.Q. Alliance. So, Empok Nor was chosen, and towed from the Trivas Sector for refurbishing as the CoE's newest peacetime pet-project in the Likara Sector. Dominion and Borg detritus helped Starfleet to realize how best to serve its interests. A station built to handle the overflow from DS9, a jumping-off point to the Gamma and Delta Quadrants, and the Federation.

Also, a headquarters to Starfleet's transport command (circa 2375). Home away from home for tired colonial militias and their suppliers, in addition to supporting a massive hub for restoring confidence in basic civilian tourism throughout the Alpha Quadrant Alliance.

Background:

Formerly an accounting executive of a Terran/Federation Mining Corporation (Destilex Dilithium Corp.) but chose to tender her resignation at age 35. Left dissatisfied by extremely long hours, no sense of room for genuinely meaningful promotion or ~real~ travel. She traded in cheesy baubles, attractive-but-ridiculously-expensive outfits, military dictatorship-like relationships with her boss and co-workers, crappy vending machine cuisine, lonely nights, and boardrooms that all began blurring together for life on the frontier.

Her idea of life on the frontier, of course, defined as a scarcely-legal (often concealed) phase-pistol and a comfortable center seat on the next ship leaving the local spaceport.

After paying her dues and building client-lists while plying the spacelanes closer to Earth for the last two years, She decided to head out to the Gamma Quadrant to get as far away from anything and everyone that would constantly remind her of a life that she no longer wants as a yes-woman for Distilex.

Other Information:

Every now and then, enjoys a terran beer and getting up in front of an audience and belting out Kareoke performances on various starbase promenades.
